Attic Cleanup – The Last Month…or so…

With some of my colleagues doing their roundups for the month/week, I decided to give them a shot. As V so kindly put it:

They’re fun and they don’t require too much thought, perfect for a Sunday eve.

So, let’s go over the last few happenings in The Mental Attic Continue reading Attic Cleanup – The Last Month…or so…

Dracula – Series Review

As always, I’ve given the series a 3-episode chance to hook me before I write the review. If you’ve read my previous reviews, you’ll know, that number is usually enough to measure the quality of the series. Continue reading Dracula – Series Review

Grim Dawn Alpha Build Playthrough

So, after buying Grim Dawn and playing around with it, I decided to record a playthrough, not only to show the game and my cool Saboteur character, but also as practice for recording/encoding/uploading for future endeavours. Continue reading Grim Dawn Alpha Build Playthrough

The Fun and Quirky Legend of Zela: A Link Between Worlds trailer

With the new Zelda game just a couple of weeks from now, scheduled for November 22, Nintendo has just released a brand new trailer, a quirky, and very funny trailer in true Nintendo fashion, in which the game’s Producer, Eiji Aonuma, runs around New York trying to escape Nintendo of America agents, so they don’t take him back to work, showcasing Link’s new ability to help in his escape.

This was a sure-buy for me even before the trailer, which now has just made me even more excited about the game.

Deus Ex Human Revolution Director’s Cut – First Boss Stream

So, I just did a quick stream on twitch on the reworked 1st boss fight. Check it out here

This time around you can see me perfectly, I even shaved for the occasion.

I still see the video a bit twitchy, with a bit of lag every now and then, skipping ahead a second or two. Maybe it’s just me but if you see it like that too, please tell me and if you have any idea on how I can fix it, please let me know!

Hope you enjoy it!

By the way, mark the 16th, I’m doing a Dead Space Scarethrough to coincide with 1001up.com‘s Dead Space Scare-Up! It’ll be fun!

Outlast Scarethrough

After the awesome Outlast Scare-up on 1001up.com, V from VerbalSpewReview, JohnHeatz from JohnHeatz.com and I decided to do our own Scared playthroughs of the game.

I’m the first one doing it.

Following their Scare-Up, I decided I’d play the game following this rule: I play until I die, which I did, about 5-10 minutes before 1001up did, and I feel sad about that, I wanted to beat their progress…even if I complain about playing such a scary game every minute.

I have to say I was scared as hell. You can tell by that one high-pitched scream and the fact I stood still for a long while.

You can watch it here (I don’t know how to embed twitch.tv videos here)

We’ve been talking about this, and the plan is to do one of these playthroughs maybe once a month, but we’re still in the planning stages.

I hope you excuse the poor camera but I was using my laptop’s and with such a dark game and the lights out (no point in playing this game with the lights on) you can barely see me, but this is my first time doing this and I didn’t take those things into account, next time I’ll try to have a light or something close to me so you can see my horrified expressions more clearly.

Also, the video is a bit twitchy…that may be my fault for not setting things up correctly…again, first time, I’ll take care of that for the next Playthrough

Hope you like it.

The Versatile Blogger Award

The awesome trio at 1001up.com have honored me with the nomination for the Versatile Blogger Award. This is my first nomination for anything on WordPress, so I’ll frame up this post somewhere in my room for when I need a pick me up…not really, but no matter what I’ll always see this one as the best of the bunch. The Originals – Series Review

In the Vampire Diaries universe, The Originals are the first Vampires, a family turned to Vampirism by a spell of their own making, and the progenitors of the entire vampire race. Among them, the most notable, for being both recurring and alive, are Klaus, the Vampire/Werewolf hybrid and all around pain in the ass; Elijah, the Original Gentleman, honorable and honest; and Rebekah, the eternal bitch. First introduced during season 2 of The Vampire Diaries as villains, the Originals eventually became series regulars and while still sociopaths, their roles shifted more or less once per episode, switching between helpers and bad guys as the plot required, which, as a natural consequence, means they’re the least developed characters of the bunch, with, perhaps, the exception of Elijah who’s remained constant throughout his appearances.
