I mentioned a few days ago that I had some reasons for not streaming on Twitch as often as I used to, or at all. One of the reasons I mentioned was that I didn’t have the paints or the materials needed for some of the Gunpla projects. The other reason is health.
Now, I’m not sick, I’m ok, but I am severely overweight and have been for quite a while now and I’ve decided to finally take measures about it. I’m tired and done with this weight. I’m tired of all the negatives associated with this weight, including how fast I feel fatigued. I’m also tired of looking at clothes I’d like to wear and having a mental image of how it’d look and realising I can’t get it because they don’t have my size. It’s not for vanity, not to look good, but because it makes getting clothes really difficult. Continue reading Health & Fitness

On Monday I shared with you a highlight video of all the gaming moments from my Twitch stream for the month of August and I mentioned that along with the gaming, there was also some modelling as well. Let’s talk about that!
In August there were two models I built on stream, fewer than other months but a couple of times I had to be out on the Friday or take a break for various reasons, such as the trip to Kitacon and last week, when cleaning and reorganising my work-space became a priority, as it was frankly a mess. Continue reading The Lawful Geek Stream – August Modelling
Last month, as I’ve mentioned a few times in the past, I finally got back to broadcasting on Twitch on a schedule as well as to recording Let’s Plays. The pilot season is over now and we have a winner, but that’s not what today is about.
In August’s streams I made a fool of myself in Overwatch matches, with the occasional moment of glory. I fought Lovecraftian Metroidvania bosses in Sundered, explored ancient Indian ruins with a couple of badass ladies and even fought the chaotic Rabbids in the Mushroom Kingdom. Continue reading The Lawful Geek Stream – Best of August!
Last year, during one of my first Gunpla streams—which starting this week will be every Friday from 20h London Time—some cool guys joined the chat and invited me into this great group, the Gunpla Builders Association. Since then, I’ve chatted with members of the group, shared my work with them and seen how easily their skill outclasses mine.
It’s been a while but for a couple of weeks now I’ve returned to Overwatch, been playing and improving my skills every time. The last time I played was months ago and had to quit because the toxicity in the competitive mode got to me. I couldn’t tolerate the level of abuse teammates and opponents levelled upon each other for the most meaningless of reasons. Continue reading Back to Overwatch – I love Quick Play!
As the title says, we’re finally kicking off our charity event, our delayed participation in SpecialEffect’s Gameblast event. We’ll be playing for the next 72 hours with a variety of genres and video games, some new, some old and some borrowed or imposed to us.
All money raised during the event will go directly to SpecialEffect, a fantastic organisation which develops custom solutions in software and hardware to help those with disabilities enjoy video games to their hearts’ content.
Go to https://www.twitch.tv/gamelygiving to check out our stream. The first player is Pete, kicking it all off with Crysis for the next 6 hours. At 10pm, Nathan takes over with some fun time hunting mechanical animals in Horizon Zero Dawn.
If you’d like to donate to our cause, you can do so in two ways:
A couple of weeks ago I spoke of the first Gundam model, aka Gunpla, I built, the Freedom Gundam. At the time I mentioned I would be building a second Freedom, but one from a much more recent version of the kit, with a better-designed skeleton and parts for better articulation and posing.
Well, that build is happening tonight. From 7pm GMT onwards, on the Lawful Geek Twitch channel, I’ll be building this second version of the Freedom Gundam from Gundam Seed.
Much like the previous one, this Gunpla build will be a Master Grade kit, with tons of parts to cut and piece together but also a lot more freedom when it comes to putting the finished product into a cool pose.
I won’t lie to you, I’ve already gone ahead and given the instruction manual a nice read-through, finding it very familiar to the first Freedom Gundam model I built weeks ago. This one just has a few more pieces and plenty more decals.
I’ve also already built the base for it, included with the rest of the pieces. I just couldn’t resist doing so. In fact, it’s getting much harder to resist the urge to just sit down and build this new Freedom Gundam in one go, but with work and life responsibilities, it would be bad for me to spend a work day evening on just this, which is why I’ve managed to hold on until today, Friday, as I can take as long as I need to finish the model, or at least work and stream until I fall unconscious–which would be bad considering I’ll be handling some very sharp objects!
So, if you’re interested in Gundam or Gunpla, or just model kits in general, then come check it out at 7pm GMT (that’s 2pm EST) on my Twitch channel, LawfulGeek.
