On Friday I mentioned my intent to return to the wonderful world of Let’s Play series on YouTube, but that to make things interesting and leave it to the audience to decide which series they’d like to go with, I would imitate Amazon on its Pilot Season, where they show the first episode of potential TV series, picking the most popular to go forward at the end of the preliminary season.
I’m starting my Let’s Play Pilot Season this week with the first episode of Ori and the Blind Forest, where there is very little commentary for the first few minutes because it’s heresy to interrupt such a beautiful intro. But then it picks up and I go into full rant mode, talking not only about the game and the Pilot Season but also my current obsession with the metroidvania genre and a realisation I had about video game genres once you move from 2D to 3D.
