A few weeks ago I once again recorded episodes for Let’s Play series for my YouTube channel, setting up pilots for you all to vote on. Hollow Knight, Ori & the Blind Forest, Dead Cells and Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom. These are the games I’d like to run a Let’s Play for, but I will only go on with the one you choose.
The polls have been open for a while now and they will remain so until this Sunday, when I’ll pick the winner and push on with the second episode of a new series. As of writing, Hollow Knight is at the front with 60% of all votes, with Ori & the Blind Forest and Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom following behind with 20% each. It doesn’t seem like people enjoyed Dead Cells very much.
If you haven’t voted, here’s a recap of every pilot, along with the episode so you can check it out and make up your mind. Above all, I hope you enjoy them! You can find the poll at the bottom and on The Mental Attic’s front page!
For the past few weeks I’ve gone over my little Pilot Season, inspired by what Amazon does with its proposed series. Each week I’ve shown you the first episode of a proposed Let’s Play series on The Mental Attic’s YouTube channel.
This is week three of the pilot season, where I show the first episode of a few Let’s Play series, you vote which one you like the most and I keep playing that game to the end. The second most voted for comes afterwards and the rest fade into oblivion.
It’s week 2 of the Pilot Season, where I show the first episode of potential new Let’s Play series and you help me decide which one will go past the first episode into a full series on The Mental Attic’s YouTube Channel. Last week it was Ori and the Blind Forest, a lovely little metroidvania, so this week let’s finish getting the platformers out of the way, with the first episode for the game I’ve written and spoken about the most in the past few weeks, the Metroidvania Souls-like H0llow Knight. Hope you enjoy this fun little episode, where I use some pogo skills to get early access to a lovely little item that makes me more powerful when I’m close to biting the dust!
Next week it’s the Rogue-like Dead Cells, where I’ll try to put on a good show before I inevitably get my butt kicked in horrible ways! See you then and don’t forget to vote!
It’s amazing how when you think of a good series, one you enjoyed from start to finish and watched every episode of, you also remember the good times you spent with the people you love, the tiny details of things said, seen and done while you were watching the episodes.
That’s what it’s like for me when I remember Farscape. I remember roping my dad into watching an episode. His interest waned while I stayed glued to the seat, my geeky mind in awe of what I was seeing. I remember fighting with him and the rest of the family over the remote to watch the show. We only had one TV hooked to the cable at the time, so Farscape-time was my time and I wasn’t going to let any of them take it from me. Continue reading Oldies but Goodies: Farscape
