Clearing out the Backlog!

Last week I was on vacations, a well-deserved week of me-time after months of nonstop work. I had the chance to get back to some writing projects I’ve left abandoned for a few months. I finished The Song, a science-fiction/noire short story and now finally have it ready to begin editing. I’ve also returned to a 2nd draft of a novel, not much progress there, but the week helped me get back into the mindset of the prose, to know where I left off and what I meant with the old notes I left.

But I also had time to do something gamers rarely do: clear out the gaming backlog. Continue reading Clearing out the Backlog!

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – Weapon Durability Lore

Plenty has been said about The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, with one complaint common among them: weapons break too fast and you can’t repair them.

I don’t have a problem with this mechanic personally. I find it really fun to switch weapons on the fly, mid-combo, when I notice them about to break or right after that happens. After all, I can always find a new weapon to replace the old one and there are many weapons strewn throughout Hyrule. Hell, I know where I can make some of them! The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – The Joy of Puzzling

I received my Nintendo Switch and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on Friday and the moment I was done with work, I started playing and have done so every moment I can. I sincerely love the game and if this feeling I have while playing it carries to the end of the game, then we’ll have a new number 1 Legend of Zelda title in my Top 5.

For me, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a joyous experience, and no matter what, not even if I’m constantly dying to that one sneaky enemy that circles around the group and kills me from behind, or I fall off a massive height because a storm came in and made me slip on a giant climb, I’m always smiling.

This is the last day of me sharing the joys with you and I close it off with a fantastic one: The Joy of Puzzling. Continue reading The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – The Joy of Puzzling

Awesomeness in March

March 2017 might be the most kickass month of this year.

Ok, maybe it’s a stretch considering it’s very early in 2017 and there’s lots of things to come, but March is surely bringing a lot of cool things that I’m really excited about…and a few others for which I’m less than thrilled, but I won’t go into them, mostly because it’s about politics, bonehead decisions and more politics.

So, let’s move into why I’m so excited about March 2017: Continue reading Awesomeness in March

Countdown to Nintendo Switch – Top 5 Zelda – Ocarina of Time

It’s only a few weeks now, before the arrival of the Nintendo Switch.

As much as I’m counter to the preorder culture, I did buy my Nintendo Switch only minutes after watching the January presentation by Nintendo. I got my Wii U very late in its life, around Holidays 2015, so I’ve had to rush to get the games I wanted for the platform, which I’m still enjoying to be honest.
