Let’s Play – D4: Dark Dreams Don’t Die

D4: Dark Dreams Don’t Die is a point & click adventure game developed by Access Games, the developers of Deadly Premonition, a game I’ve been trying to play for a while now. It puts you in control of retired Boston detective and now Private Investigator David Young, “The Detective who Investigates the Past,” a title that doesn’t make much sense when you consider that all detectives investigate the past, things that have happened. He left the force after the death of his wife at the hands of the man called “D” in a case related to the latest drug on the market, “Real Blood.” Since then he’s been obsessed with solving her murder.

What his ludicrous title doesn’t explain is that he can use emotionally charged items to dive into the past and re-live it. He doesn’t replace the owner of the item but instead just appears out of nowhere, much to everyone’s surprise.  Continue reading Let’s Play – D4: Dark Dreams Don’t Die

Let’s Play – Life is Strange

I reviewed Life is Strange last week, giving it the first ever Highlander score. The game completely blew my mind in storytelling, gameplay, characterisation and pretty much everything else, but if you’ve read the review you already know this.

For my review I played the game on my nightly broadcast on Twitch and YouTube and I’ve compiled it all in a nice Let’s Play playlist. For your convenience and enjoyment, I’ve made sure to split the playthrough into 15-20 minute videos. If a video is longer, it’s because it’s near the end of an episode or it’s one particular sequence.

Hope you enjoy the game as much as I did while playing it and that it brings you to tears like it did me.

But to make things more interesting, I decided to leave it up to you, my dear readers, on how I should play the game. I set two polls up, one for the style of play and the other for Adam Jensen’s attitude. He’ll always be a sour, inexpressive bastard but he could be a bastard with a heart of gold or a complete arsehole. Continue reading Let’s Play – Deus Ex: Human Revolution – Director’s Cut
