Gaming Q&A – February 2017 – Hardest Games

You know me, I’m always up for a good discussion, no matter if it’s games, films, TV series or even books and writing. So, when the crew of Later Levels approached me for a monthly gaming Q&A, hopefully to create some great debates around video games, it didn’t take much for me to see that it could be fun.

Every month, I’ll present you with the question and my answer. If you’d like to join, get in touch with Later Levels. The rules are simple, in fact there is only one to note: your answer must be in 100 words or fewer.

This month’s question is:

What’s the hardest game in the universe, ever?

This is my answer:

A Boy and His Blob: Trouble on Blobolonia

It’s brutal, even by NES standards. It’s a platformer where every bit of movement could kill you. You have your blob with you and you feed him beans to transform him into a variety of tools.

To be honest, everything kills you, even cobwebs. And between the blob transforming but not moving into place and the fact you have limited jellybeans, it’s so very easy to lose.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

There are no passwords or ways to save, so if you missed a jump or ran into something, it’s game over my friend. Back to the beginning with fewer sanity points.

That’s it for my answer. What do you think? Did you have nightmares with this game as I did? Or did another game bring you to tears? Let me know in the comments and don’t forget to check out GeekOut South-West for their answers and Later Levels on Friday for theirs!
